Zehavah H2024-08-29Exceeded expectations and then some! Beautiful Lodge located right outside the safari so straight into drive. Newly refurbished Royal Pilans Villa is epic. Decorated authentically, feels more like a luxury holiday home than hotel. Private pool, jacuzzi, boma and sunbathing area. Surrounded by the bish so we had animals walking right past us as we relaxed. Staff are incredible, super accommodating and eager to please. Special shout out to Kat who took such good care of us. Kosher is available and very easy to arrange. Spa was fantastic and the room was beautiful. Japhta our ranger really knows his stuff and gave us a wonderful game drive experience. He is incredibly knowledgeable and such great company. He really delivered the goods!
Daniel H2024-08-2610 out of 10 We initially booked for 2 nights at Ivory following a 2 night stay at their sister hotel Shepherds Tree however, it was so good we extended for an additional night. I can’t fault anything, the food, the staff the rooms, the service, the game drives all were exceptional. We will 100% be returning next year. I special shout out to Patience who looked after us during the day while we chilled by the pool, Aaron who served us most nights for dinner and Marvin (“5/5”) our Safari guide. Marvin is absolutely phenomenal he always puts the vehicle in the best spots so we got the best photos and his knowledge was incredible, we learnt so much. If you stay at Ivory I’d highly recommend requesting Marvin as your Safari Guide. What an amazing place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, loved every minute of it. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm towels, an attendant to park our car. The reception staff were super friendly and efficient. We went straight into lunch where we were greeted by Aaron. Aaron was very professional and catered for our every need. By the time we had finished lunch our lodge was ready and we were shown around. It blew me away! It was better in real life than on the photos on booking.com. The magic really happened on the safari drives. Anja was our guide, she instantly made us feel so welcome and comfortable in her care. She was very knowledgeable, upbeat and told fascinating stories. My children loved her! She went out of her way to find all the animals and never gave up! We feel like we made a friend for life. She made our stay so memorable, we will be forever grateful. After the safari drives you are then greeted with warm towels and on an evening hot chocolate. The children loved toasting marshmallows on the fire. The hot water bottles on your seat in the morning and blankets are also another little added touch. Ivory Tree lodge really did think of every thing. Also have to mention how lovely the food was at breakfast and at dinner. We enjoyed the Boma night, was a lovely atmosphere and was nice to hear some authentic African music. Thank you Ivory Tree Lodge for a wonderful time.Ewa F2024-08-09Least Romantic Weekend thanks Ivory Tree Lodge This is not a place for a romantic getaway for a couple simply wanting privacy, quiet and luxury. We paid in excess of R25000 to stay for 3 nights. We are still here at this time. We arrived as told at 12:30 and were made to “hang out” till 2pm and have lunch. When the time came no porter could be found. We took our own luggage to the room only to find the room was still being cleaned. Our room looks over onto the back of another room and its aircon. The photos on the website are a lie. Complete waste of money. Accommodation very basic. Everyone is so upbeat friendly providing great service. The hotel is spotless lovely relaxing decor, food delicious with lots of choices. Reggie I think was his name was our waiter at the Boma evening lovely guy very professional and friendly. The maître (on duty 26/26 July didn’t get his name) was excellent very aware of all that was happening and quietly making sure service was perfect. We also had spa treatments - massage & facial top quality treatment products and well trained experienced therapists - we didn’t want our treatments to end - we felt so very relaxed All staff are fabulous good spirits very polite and welcoming. On the whole the experience was wonderful you have a very slick professional operation. The lodge was breathtaking, all staff were amazing, specially our exceptional game driver, Ilse. From the moment we set off, it was evident she was not just knowledgeable but truly passionate about sharing her love for animals and all things nature. Her explanations were insightful, her enthusiasm contagious, and her dedication ensuring we had the best experience possible was unmatched. Ilse created memories that will last a lifetime. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot recommend it more.
